An established and highly regarded law firm in the Southwest is seeking a Civil Litigation Solicitor to join its growing dispute resolution team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor with between 3 – 5 years’ post-qualification experience to handle a varied caseload of civil litigation matters while benefiting from strong support, quality work and genuine opportunities for career progression.
You will manage your own caseload of civil litigation matters and provide clear, practical advice to a broad range of clients, including individuals, businesses and organisations. The caseload is likely to include:
- Contractual disputes
- Property litigation
- Boundary and neighbour disputes
- Debt recovery matters
- Professional negligence claims
- Commercial disputes
- Contentious probate matters
- Landlord and tenant disputes
- General civil litigation matters
You will be expected to manage files from inception through to conclusion, including pre‑action negotiations, alternative dispute resolution and court proceedings where necessary.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a varied civil litigation caseload with minimal supervision
- Advising clients on legal strategy, risks and potential outcomes
- Drafting correspondence, pleadings and court documents
- Conducting negotiations and settlement discussions
- Representing clients at hearings where appropriate
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Assisting with business development and networking activities
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and risk management procedures
Candidate Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor with approximately 3 – 5 years’ PQE
- Experience handling a broad range of civil litigation matters
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and client care abilities
- Commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to problem‑solving
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- The ability to work independently whilst contributing positively to a team environment
