We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a well‑established and highly regarded regional law firm with a broad range of legal services and a strong reputation for client care. Their family team is known for supporting clients through some of the most challenging and sensitive legal matters affecting families, providing clear advice with empathy and professional expertise.

The Role

Our client is seeking a Family Solicitor with at least three years’ post‑qualification experience to join their Bridgwater office, specialising in public family law. This role offers the opportunity to handle a substantive caseload of public law matters, including cases involving local authority care proceedings and the Public Law Outline process, often supported by legal aid where clients are eligible.

As a fee‑earner in this team, you can expect to:

  • Represent clients in public family law proceedings involving child protection and care cases.
  • Work directly with clients who are facing intervention by social services and related court applications.
  • Prepare and conduct advocacy in family courts, including case preparation, evidence gathering and drafting court documents.
  • Provide empathetic, client‑focused advice through complex and sensitive legal processes.
  • Manage your own caseload with increasing autonomy, with support from senior practitioners as needed.
