We are seeking a motivated and experienced Property Litigation Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx Level 6 / LPC) to join a busy property team. You will manage a varied caseload, provide exceptional client service, and support the development of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively managing your own time to meet chargeable and non-chargeable hours targets.
- Advising landlords, tenants, and property owners on all aspects of property litigation, including lease renewals, forfeiture, rent arrears recovery, service charge disputes, breach of covenant claims, boundary disputes, and possession proceedings.
- Drafting and reviewing pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence.
- Preparing and issuing court applications, including claims in the County Court and the First-tier Tribunal (Property Chamber).
- Managing initial client enquiries and liaising with new clients.
- Handling legal documentation with strict confidentiality.
- Attending client meetings, taking instructions, and preparing cases.
- Conducting matters on behalf of clients in line with their instructions.
- Supervising support staff, including paralegals and legal secretaries.
- Managing financial control, including cashflow and billing procedures.
- Providing regular client updates and handling queries on matters.
- Submitting required documents to court prior to trial.
Requirements
- Qualified Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (CILEx Level 6 / LPC).
- Proven experience in property litigation or a strong dispute resolution background with a property focus.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Strong understanding of Civil Procedure Rules and relevant property legislation.
- Proficient in case management systems and IT applications.
- Highly adaptable, flexible, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
- Excellent time management, organisational, and communication skills.
- Commercially aware with a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.
