A well-established and highly regarded law firm is seeking an experienced Employment Solicitor to join its growing team in Northampton. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Associate, Junior Partner, or experienced Employment Lawyer who is ready to take on a leadership role within a supportive and ambitious department.
The successful candidate will work closely with a leading Employment Partner and play an important role in the next phase of growth for the team. The role offers genuine leadership opportunities, including supervising and mentoring junior lawyers, while managing a varied caseload of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters. The firm has strong recognition in the Legal 500 and provides a collaborative environment with excellent support across departments.
Key Responsibilities- Managing a diverse caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment law matters
- Advising employer clients including SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and listed companies, as well as employees
- Drafting and advising on settlement agreements, employment contracts, and workplace policies
- Advising on restructuring projects, changes to employment terms, and redundancy exercises
- Assisting clients with Modern Slavery Act compliance and related regulatory obligations
- Providing strategic advice on senior management and board-level employment disputes
- Delivering day-to-day employment law and HR advisory support
- Assisting with data protection compliance issues relating to employment matters
- Representing clients in Employment Tribunal proceedings
- Collaborating with other teams including Corporate & Commercial, Commercial Litigation, and Commercial Property
- Minimum 5 years UK Post Qualification Experience in employment law
- Strong experience in both contentious and non-contentious employment matters
- Ability to manage a full caseload independently from instruction through to completion
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior lawyers or trainees
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Excellent organisational and case management abilities
- Interest in business development and supporting team growth
- A proactive and collaborative approach to leadership within a legal team
