We are working with a busy, approachable, and fully family-law-focused practice based in the heart of Blackburn town centre. The firm is Resolution and Lexcel accredited and is continuing to grow, prompting the expansion of its Family Law Department. This opportunity is ideal for a Family Solicitor with 1+ year PQE who is committed to delivering high-quality client care and managing a varied caseload from initial instruction through to conclusion. You will handle both privately funded and publicly funded family matters, with the chance to undertake advocacy and develop your expertise further.
Key Responsibilities
- Divorce and financial remedy work
- Children matters (public and private)
- Legal aid and privately funded cases
- Advising clients on funding options and assessing legal aid eligibility
- Drafting statements, applications, and other court documentation
- Conducting advocacy where appropriate
- Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts, and third parties
- Providing compassionate, clear, and practical advice to vulnerable clients
- Ensuring compliance with Lexcel and SRA regulatory standards
- Contributing positively to a down-to-earth and supportive team environment
Requirements
- Qualified Family Solicitor with a minimum of 1 year PQE
- Strong knowledge of family law, particularly divorce and finances
- Experience working with sensitive or vulnerable clients
- Confident advocacy skills or willingness to develop them
- Ability to manage a full caseload independently
- Excellent communication and client care skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
