Join our dynamic Legal & General Retail IT team as a Scrum Master, where you’ll embed agile thinking and coach teams on applying agile values, principles, and practices. You’ll play a crucial role in driving the delivery of key products and platforms, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring transparency and collaboration across all levels. What you’ll be doing:

Leading cross-functional teams utilizing the Scrum framework for the delivery of key products/platforms

Facilitating Scrum events; release and sprint planning, daily stand-up, show & tell, refinement, and retrospective

Identifying, managing, and removing team-level impediments, preventing distractions that interfere with sprint goals, and developing clear and concise escalation points
-
Providing transparency and visibility by tracking and reporting team-level delivery metrics and radiating information
-
Driving the adoption of engineering practices such as test-driven development, pair-programming, automated testing, and continuous delivery to improve the quality and reliability of the team’s deliverables

Promoting and supporting the engineering team’s agile development methodologies and actively participating in the continual improvement of these

Facilitating discussion and conflict resolution, empowering the team to self-organize and manage

Taking responsibility for coaching and mentoring team members on agile values, principles, and practices

Holding a Certified Scrum Master certification (PSM1 and/or 2 or equivalent)

Ideally a SAFe Agile accreditation/experience or other Lean delivery approaches (desirable)

A strong understanding of agile values, principles, and practices

A detailed knowledge of the full software delivery lifecycle and KPIs using agile methodologies

Experience as a Scrum Master and in applying Scrum or XP engineering practices

Demonstrable leadership and the ability to lead people of varying capabilities and backgrounds

An understanding of architectural design principles and patterns, and software development in a DevOps/CI/CD environment
