We’re recruiting a Sourcing Manager to join our Technology team with knowledge and experience of Technology and Outsourcing procurement. The role is part of the Group Procurement team’s 3‑year transformation strategy launched in 2023. We are looking for a Sourcing Manager who brings experience and knowledge, can work flexibly, and will prioritise engagement and collaboration with our L&G colleagues to ensure great business partnering and deliver the best outcomes. A typical working week is two days in an office and three days at home.
What you’ll be doing
- Managing a variety of procurement/sourcing engagements
- Leading and conducting sourcing activities and negotiations for renewals, in‑life negotiations and new supplier engagements ensuring relevant control and governance requirements are met
- Collaborating with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams to drive strategic procurement initiatives
- Monitoring adherence to established contracts and realising savings, collaborating with contract management and supplier relationship management (SRM) teams as required
- Actively identifying and leading opportunities to drive value and improve performance of potential supply base while seeking to reduce cost and risk and improve performance and value
- Supporting the development and implementation of procurement strategies
- Ensuring all contracting and commitment to spend is undertaken and governed in accordance with procurement policies and procedures
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of procurement processes and tools
- Providing guidance and support to junior team members
- Participating in the transformation and optimisation of supply spend
Qualifications
- In‑depth knowledge of technology category management, sourcing execution and using procurement technology
- Experience of undertaking and managing activities and negotiations in a regulated environment
- Good knowledge of contracting principles and associated legal frameworks, understanding of spend categories, financial models, regulatory landscape, and impact on commercial agreements; working knowledge of Master Services Agreements is essential
- Solid knowledge of tools and techniques to execute strategic sourcing (e.g., RFI and RFP processes, spend analytics, e‑RFQ tools, etc.)
- Adaptable, collaborative and able to drive good business outcomes
- Willingness to learn and drive for continuous improvement
- Strong judgement, communication and influencing skills
- Excellent oral and written skills
