We’re looking for a Support Engineer to help keep our data services running smoothly. You’ll join a collaborative support team responsible for our Snowflake data warehouse, investigating pipeline issues, responding to internal queries and helping colleagues access the accurate data they need. This is an opportunity to work with Snowflake, DBT, SQL and Azure technology in a varied environment where your troubleshooting and communication skills will be equally valued. We welcome candidates from different backgrounds who can demonstrate the relevant skills, even if they do not meet every desirable requirement.
What you'll be doing:
- Monitoring scheduled ETL jobs and data ingestion pipelines
- Confirming that data has loaded successfully into Snowflake
- Investigating pipeline failures and coordinating timely resolutions
- Responding to incidents and service requests from internal colleagues
- Troubleshooting missing, incomplete or inconsistent data
- Supporting technical and non-technical users with Snowflake queries
- Communicating progress and solutions in clear, accessible language
- Prioritising issues effectively within a fast-paced support environment
Who we're looking for:
- Practical experience of working with Snowflake
- Good working knowledge of DBT
- Strong SQL skills
- Previous experience within a support or service desk environment
- Effective troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills
- An approachable communication style and the ability to explain technical subjects clearly
- The ability to remain organised and make sound decisions under pressure
- Experience of Azure Data Factory or the wider Azure ecosystem would be beneficial
