Operating continuously in the UK market from our entrance in 1987, we are the UK’s longest-running insurer. Our Institutional Retirement division provides pension risk transfer (PRT) solutions for UK and US defined benefit (DB) schemes, and reinsurance solutions from our global hub in Bermuda. We work with companies, DB pension schemes and their advisors to help them secure and protect scheme members’ retirement benefits.
We have a great opportunity for someone to join our award-winning Pension Risk Transfer business as a Senior Pensions Data Loading Specialist on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. In this role you will build calculation models, as well as loading, checking and signing off on customer data that is loaded into L&G’s Pension Administration System. You will also issue key customer communications as part of this interesting and varied role. This is a hybrid working opportunity, which means that you can work flexibly between our idyllic Hove Office and your home, to find a work-life balance that works for you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Independently analysing scheme data, building calculation models and loading scheme specific benefits into the administration system.
- Completing test calculations to ensure that customers are accurately quoted and paid in line with the benefit specification and within agreed SLAs.
- Producing and issuing member correspondence which accurately reflects scheme benefits and notifies customers of their policy and benefit entitlements.
- Checking and signing off scheme loads, and member correspondence completed by other team members.
- Providing the highest level of support to clients both internally and externally to ensure that all enquiries are resolved in accordance with the relevant SLAs.
- Ensuring that all processes are created and followed to ensure that a full audit trail exists throughout the lifecycle of all data items.
- Ensuring that all internal customers and any relevant third parties are kept updated in a timely fashion on any key information which impacts their processing.
Qualifications
Who we’re looking for:
- A good understanding of Defined Benefit pension schemes, including an understanding of the way benefits are structured and administered in Defined Benefits schemes.
- Good knowledge of the following legislation/guidelines: GDPR, Money Laundering, Treating Customers Fairly, Complaints & Breach Guidelines.
- Highly customer focused, with an understanding of the need to maintain and improve relationships with both internal and external customers.
- A strong understanding of the potential risks to the team, and the business, and the ability to actively take steps to reduce/mitigate these risks.
- Ability to provide an accurate and cost-effective service by getting it right first time.
- Competent in the use of both MS Excel and Word.
- Ability to manage tight timescales, prioritise own work and escalate if necessary.
- A good communicator with clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ideally someone with a Pension Qualification such as CII or PMI or relevant experience in the pensions industry.
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
- Competitive salary
- The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan
- Generous pension contribution
- Life assurance
- At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
- Competitive family leave
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice
- Discounts for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
At L&G, we believe it's possible to generate positive returns today while helping to build a better future for all. If you join us, you’ll be part of a welcoming, inclusive culture, with opportunities to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds, views, and experiences. Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel.
We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part-time, term-time and job shares. Although some roles have limited flexibility due to customer demand, we accommodate requests when we can.
It doesn’t matter if you don’t meet every single criterion in this advert. Instead, think about what you excel at and what else you can bring in terms of strengths, potential and connection to our purpose.
