Junior Python Developer – Index Analytics and Technology
Due to internal progression and the growth of the Index team, we’re looking to hire a Junior Python Developer to provide support with implementing the development on various in‑house fund management tools that assist our Fund Managers and Senior Fund Managers in the management of funds.
It is a varied role offering exposure to many internal teams within L&G Asset Management.
Candidates should have proven experience building internal relationships, knowledge of Python programming and a passion for automating processes and proactively solving problems for our clients.
- What you’ll be doing
- Providing support and carrying out development on in‑house fund management tools for Fund Managers and Senior Fund Managers.
- Participating in ad‑hoc quantitative and qualitative research and preparing material for investment reports.
- Helping analyse corporate actions and recommending actions to take.
- Assisting with client servicing, including responding to client requests and preparing materials for client and consultant presentations.
- Producing various reports including fund holding, attribution, and risk reports on a regular basis.
- Assisting with analyses of portfolio breakdowns and transfers, index construction and changes.
- Analysing and attributing portfolio performance.
- Automating processes and proactively solving issues for internal stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in Investment Management or finance is preferable, though we will also consider candidates with proven programming skills from other industries.
- Proven knowledge of Python or demonstrable experience with other coding languages is essential.
- Demonstrable knowledge of a variety of asset classes, with a focus on index preferred.
- Creative, with the ability to identify potential issues and create solutions.
- Experience of developing processes to improve or support client requests is advantageous.
- Proactive, and keen to learn and develop.
- Have previously reviewed or evaluated index strategies or benchmarks.
