The Site Reliability Engineer Graduate Programme is a two‑year opportunity for recent graduates to develop technical and commercial skills while contributing to the reliability and quality of our customer‑facing software.
Role OverviewFrom day one you will be part of a real SRE team, contributing to live systems and meaningful projects.
Key Responsibilities- Begin with our Future Talent induction, building connections with fellow graduates and learning how L&G operates.
- Work on real‑world engineering challenges, supporting the reliability, availability, and performance of customer‑facing systems.
- Design and improve monitoring, alerting, and observability to help teams detect and resolve issues quickly.
- Use automation tools and frameworks to reduce manual work and improve system resilience.
- Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders across the business.
- Create and maintain clear technical documentation to support knowledge sharing and operational excellence.
- Participate in structured training, workshops, and mentoring to build strong foundations in Site Reliability Engineering principles.
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to attain professional and industry‑recognised qualifications such as the SRE Practitioner Certification.
Qualifications- 2:1 degree or above in a STEM subject (or equivalent technical interest from another discipline).
- Analytical mindset with strong numerical skills.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and logical thinking.
- Awareness of modern technologies such as cloud platforms and TypeScript/JavaScript‑based frameworks.
