We’re currently looking to hire a Delegated Solutions Associate to join L&G Asset Management’s Delegated Solutions team, managing and advising on complex investment solutions for institutional investors. The Delegated Solutions team works with institutional investors to design, implement and manage holistic portfolio solutions, drawing on the full breadth of L&G and third-party capabilities to deliver against client-specific objectives.
The team’s work takes many forms including investment strategy design and portfolio construction, risk analysis and asset/liability modelling, the provision of investment advice, portfolio management and oversight, ongoing client engagement and bespoke reporting, and technology development and maintenance to support these activities. Much of the Delegated Solutions team’s work leverages L&G’s existing capabilities – including the use of Index Funds, Multi-Asset Funds, Global Fixed Income, LDI, Real Assets and derivative strategies – alongside third-party manager capabilities. Combinations are assembled and managed by the Delegated Solutions team based on the team’s deep understanding of clients’ specific risks, objectives and constraints.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working with institutional clients to understand their requirements.
- Delivering bespoke investment strategy analysis, risk modelling, and portfolio construction.
- Assisting in the provision of investment advice to institutional investors.
- Assisting in the management of complex multi-asset investment mandates for institutional investors, typically delegating slices of the mandates to other parts of L&G or to third-party asset managers.
- Communicating complex analysis and sophisticated ideas in a concise and understandable fashion, both in writing and in person.
- Developing and maintaining proprietary tools and systems, including Python coding.
- Working with clients and other internal teams to deliver bespoke client reporting.
- Practicing L&G cultural values and behaviours, helping make L&G a business that all can be proud to work for and would recommend to others.
- Participate in a risk and conduct risk aware culture, including having an awareness of the Consumer Duty regulation and the need to ensure the delivery of good client and customer outcomes.
Qualifications
Who we’re looking for:
- Previous experience of investment strategy design, portfolio construction and risk analysis with experience of providing investment advisory services to institutional investors.
- Knowledge and understanding of major asset classes, as well as derivatives & LDI.
- You’ll have an understanding of the UK defined benefit pension scheme investment environment, including typical risks and objectives, regulatory environment.
- Proven ability to deliver high quality numerical analysis.
- Proven ability to prepare client-friendly written reports and presentations.
- You’ll have the ability to code in Python.
- Proven ability to proactively create new or evolve existing processes and tools.
- Have an organised and structured approach to project management.
