We’re recruiting for an Asset Charging Officer to support the end‑to‑end delivery of property charging, security and transfer transactions for Affordable Homes, ensuring that all associated documentation, data and approvals are complete, accurate and aligned to agreed service levels.
The role holder will undertake the day‑to‑day administration and monitoring of the business’s loan portfolio and maintain the Asset & Liabilities Register, providing timely, reliable reporting and audit‑ready records. Working closely with internal teams (including Development, Finance and Legal) and external parties (including lenders, trustees, valuers and solicitors), the role helps safeguard the integrity of our security position, enables efficient funding and refinancing activity, and supports strong governance and compliance across the asset and liabilities lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Creating high‑standard asset packs for charging and other intragroup transactions
- Taking a lead role in ensuring that all legal data and contracts are of a high standard, accurate, and uploaded to business digital platforms within applicable SLAs
- Managing and completing the valuation and disposal process, ensuring compliance with applicable deadlines and business requirements
- Producing analyses and reports for internal and external stakeholders in compliance with set deadlines
- Collaborating with external stakeholders, including banks, security trustees, valuers, and law firms
- Heavily contributing to the overall maintenance of the Asset & Liabilities Register
- Assisting with administrative and ad hoc tasks for the Charging Team
- Working collaboratively with relevant internal stakeholders, including Development and Finance
Qualifications
- Broad knowledge of the relevant statutory, regulatory and common law applicable to the field of real estate and the provision of regulated social and affordable housing
- Property charging experience within the affordable housing sector preferable
- Experience in supporting a broad range of general corporate matters
- Experience supporting a broad range of real estate and affordable housing transactions
- Competent in use of IT systems
