We are recruiting for Medical Claims Assessors to join us in our Group Protection department. You will work Monday-Friday on a hybrid basis in our Hove office and earn a base salary of up to £42,000, dependant on experience.

What you’ll be doing:

  • You’ll provide pro-active and comprehensive claims assessment and management services for a defined account portfolio, and checking liability with your authority level.
  • Assessing and triaging Group Protection claims, deciding what medical evidence to obtain in line with L&G’s philosophies.
  • Providing a comprehensive assessment of Group Protection claims and determining liability, while meeting the expectations of our clients and stakeholders.
  • Cultivating effective relationships with IFA’s and Policyholders (employers), to maximise the effectiveness of our benefit management processes, including the provision of support for the portfolio management of defined schemes.
  • Assisting in the provision of Management Data on portfolio accounts which analyses performance and identifies key trends.
  • Training, mentoring, and developing other members of the claims team.
  • Developing processes that deliver compliant and consistent levels of service, such that our customer and client expectations are met.

Qualifications - Who we’re looking for:

  • Medical assessing experience.
  • In depth knowledge of Group Protection or Income Protection products.
  • Understanding of medical conditions and the effect these can have on someone’s ability to work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; analytical and risk management skills; ability to be creative and strategic thinking.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office suite and IT savvy.
  • Strong claims medical assessment skills.
