We’re looking for an experienced and thoughtful leader to head up our Investment Oversight function. This role plays a critical part in strengthening governance, assurance and decision making across Investments, providing oversight, insight and constructive challenge while supporting high‑quality customer outcomes. You’ll work closely with senior leaders across Investments and with our second and third lines of defence, helping to ensure our investment activities operate within a robust and proportionate risk and control environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Setting and leading the Investment Oversight strategy in line with Investment and Group objectives
- Leading and developing the Investment Oversight team, building capability, capacity and succession
- Overseeing key investment processes across front office, lifecycle and governance activities
- Providing independent challenge and expert insight to senior investment leaders on risk and control effectiveness
- Owning and operating the first line risk‑based assurance framework for Investments
- Overseeing the identification, escalation and remediation of material issues and themes
- Partnering with Compliance, Risk and Internal Audit on investment‑related matters
- Delivering clear, decision‑useful management information and thematic reporting to senior forums
Who we’re looking for:
- Significant senior experience within investment or asset management in an oversight, risk, governance or COO‑type role
- Strong understanding of investment operating models, processes and financial instruments
- Proven experience leading first line assurance, oversight or control frameworks
- Sound knowledge of regulatory and governance expectations relevant to asset management
- Confidence engaging with and influencing senior stakeholders, including fund managers and executives
- Experience delivering through large‑scale change or operating model transformation
- A constructive, evidence‑based approach to challenge and decision making
- Clear, inclusive communication skills with the ability to translate complexity into practical outcomes
