Legal & General looks after around 700,000 institutional customers who have their retirement benefits secured with us. Operating continuously in the UK market from our entrance in 1987, we are the UK’s longest-running insurer.
Our Institutional Retirement division provides pension risk transfer (PRT) solutions for UK and US defined benefit (DB) schemes, and reinsurance solutions from our global hub in Bermuda. We work with companies, DB pension schemes and their advisors to help them secure and protect scheme members’ retirement benefits.
Joining us means you’ll support customers’ financial security in retirement; help companies to settle their pension liabilities and focus on growing their businesses; and enable investment for the long term to back our pension promises.
We have a great opportunity for someone to join our award-winning Pension Risk Transfer business as a Senior Loading Specialist on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract basis. As a Senior Loading Specialist you will build calculation models, as well as loading, checking and signing off on customer data that is loaded into L&G’s Pension Administration System. You will also issue key customer communications as part of this interesting and varied role.
This is a hybrid working opportunity, which means that you can work flexibly between our idyllic Hove Office and your home, to find a work-life balance that works for you.
What you'll be doing:
- Independently analysing scheme data, building calculation models and loading scheme specific benefits into the administration system.
- Completing test calculations to ensure that customers are accurately quoted and paid in line with the benefit specification and within agreed SLAs, and so that internal colleagues have accurate information for their downstream processes.
- Producing and issuing member correspondence which accurately reflects scheme benefits and notifies customers of their policy and benefit entitlements. This will involve liaising with a third-party printing house when appropriate to ensure these documents are issued in line with agreed timescales.
- Checking and signing off scheme loads, and member correspondence completed by other team members.
- Providing the highest level of support to clients both internally and externally to ensure that all enquiries are resolved in accordance with the relevant SLAs.
- Ensuring that all processes are created and followed to ensure that a full audit trail exists throughout the lifecycle of all data items. This will include taking responsibility for the testing and documenting of all processes to ensure that they remain appropriate and consistent.
- Ensuring that all internal customers and any relevant third parties are kept updated in a timely fashion on any key information which impacts their processing to enable them to treat the end customer fairly.
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- Pension Qualification such as CII or PMI or demonstrable equivalent experience in this field.
- A good understanding of Defined Benefit pension schemes is essential, including an understanding of the way benefits are structured and administered in Defined Benefits schemes.
- Good knowledge of the following legislation/guidelines: - GDPR, Money Laundering, Treating Customers Fairly, Complaints & Breach Guidelines.
- Highly customer focused, with an understanding of the need to maintain and improve relationships with both internal and external customers.
- A strong understanding of the potential risks to the team, and the business, and the ability to actively take steps to reduce/mitigate these risks.
- Ability to provide an accurate and cost-effective service by getting it right first time and actively supporting/training others to reach the same high standard.
- Competent use of both MS Excel and Word.
- Ability to manage tight timescales, prioritise own work or escalate if necessary.
- A good communicator with clear written and verbal communication skills.
Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:
- The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes.
- Generous pension contribution.
- Life assurance.
- Private medical insurance (permanent employees only).
- At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, 26 days after 2 years’ service. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday.
- Competitive family leave.
- Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice.
- There are the many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online.
