We are recruiting a Life Medical Underwriter to review customer applications, identify risk factors, and decide whether we can offer Life, Critical Illness Cover and Income Protection. This is an opportunity to work with competitive base salary and flexible working options.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Accurately assess and document life and disability risks by reviewing applications and deciding which terms can be offered.
- Participate in or lead projects that enhance the underwriting process and improve systems and commercial viability.
- Ensure requests for further information are appropriate, accurate and timely.
- Identify complaints and ensure they are acted upon quickly, highlighting root causes.
- Record all work accurately daily to enable effective business decisions.
- Maintain excellent knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate professionally with internal and external customers and partners.
- Manage commitments regarding service levels during marketing and sales processes.
Qualifications
- Experience in underwriting protection products.
- Experience in UK medical underwriting (essential).
- Thorough understanding of mortality and morbidity risk factors and financial underwriting.
- Extensive knowledge of all protection products.
- Preferable understanding of legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
