As Communications Manager, Asset Management, you’ll help deliver strategic PR initiatives that promote our distribution capabilities across UK and international markets. This is a dynamic opportunity to work with senior stakeholders, manage reputational issues, and contribute to high-impact campaigns in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Working with the Asset Management communications team, focus on developing and executing strategic PR initiatives that showcase Legal & General’s investment expertise and distribution activity across UK and international asset management markets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to craft compelling narratives aligned with business goals, identify media opportunities, produce press materials and thought leadership content, and prepare senior spokespeople for interviews, press briefings, and speaking engagements to ensure impactful representation.
  • Identify reputational risks, lead on developing media plans to mitigate issues and handle crisis communications when needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant journalists and publications, including outside of the UK.
  • Monitor and measure media engagement to inform activity and implement metrics to report on the effectiveness of external communications.
  • Work with the team to ensure effective day-to-day management of our network of UK and international PR agencies and partner with asset management marketing and investor relations to ensure messaging is aligned.
  • Support management of media budgets and maintain External Communications team processes and documentation to ensure timely, compliant communications.
  • Uphold governance, compliance, and risk frameworks to align decisions with business ethics, values, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Ensure communications are reviewed and approved by individuals with appropriate knowledge and expertise, and that approval is recorded.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of external communications, campaigns, PR approaches, and media relations practices and tactics.
  • Understanding of UK asset management as well as broader finance or investment industry.
  • Knowledge of the pensions sector; private and public markets asset classes is desirable but not essential.
  • 5+ years of experience in asset management or financial services PR.
  • Knowledge of business and finance media landscape.
  • Experience in developing and executing PR strategies and campaigns for high-profile organisations.
  • Team player with a strong work ethic, collaborative yet able to work independently.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, able to prioritise, multi-task, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with crisis communications and reputation management.
  • Experience dealing with non-UK media is desirable but not essential.
  • Language skills are desirable but not essential.
  • Experience mentoring colleagues; ability to build strong relationships across diverse teams.
  • Ability to operate with discretion, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment.
