We’re recruiting for a Clinical Governance Specialist to join Legal & General. You will provide quality assurance activities to the Clinical team and third‑party suppliers by ensuring that rules and regulations for products and processes are consistent with strategy and philosophy. You will support the claims management service for group and individual protection customers by delivering early‑intervention rehabilitation service. This role offers a competitive salary of up to £55,000 depending on experience, along with the option to work remotely.
What you’ll be doing:
- Conduct and deliver regular monthly audits of the assessments made by the Clinical team and third‑party providers in relation to Group Protection products.
- Develop and continually review internal procedures and rehabilitation philosophies to ensure evidence‑ and market‑leading delivery of rehabilitation programmes that proactively manage Income Protection claims.
- Build, manage, audit and maintain effective relationships with external suppliers to ensure cost‑effective services.
- Develop and build effective relationships with claimants by conducting assessments through telephone or face‑to‑face contact, establishing the claimant’s clinical capability, and monitoring rehabilitation plans.
- Design, develop, implement and deliver training packages for our clients that act as preventative and supportive packages around topics such as sickness absence, cancer, mental health and recurring conditions.
- Attend beauty parades and client meetings acting as the main Clinical contact for our largest schemes.
- Conduct investigations for any complaints relating to the Clinical team or third‑party providers.
- Compile and review statistical data to identify trends and produce and circulate reports relating to audit findings around rehabilitation activity.
Who we’re looking for:
- Job holder must be an occupational therapist, physiotherapist or registered nurse with either an occupational health qualification or a vocational rehabilitation qualification.
- Job holder must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) or the Health & Care Professions Council.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; strong problem‑solving and risk‑management skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement across the team.
- Experience of completing quality assurance and delivering training.
- Experience of Group Income Protection and vocational rehabilitation essential.
