We’re looking for a Tax Oversight Assistant to join our Retail team, supporting the delivery of robust tax oversight across our products and operations. This role plays an important part in helping ensure we meet our tax obligations while delivering good outcomes for customers. Working closely with the Tax Oversight team and Group Tax, you’ll gain exposure to a wide range of tax, risk and governance activities. It’s an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to develop their knowledge in financial services tax, build strong stakeholder relationships and contribute to a collaborative, purpose‑driven environment.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the review and reporting of tax adherence arrangements across Retail
- Assisting in providing assurance that operational and product tax obligations are understood and followed
- Supporting the identification, tracking and management of tax risks and issues
- Contributing to governance processes, documentation and agreed action tracking
- Assisting with tax control assessments including evidence gathering and documentation
- Developing knowledge of relevant tax legislation and HMRC guidance
- Supporting product governance and helping ensure products operate as intended from a tax perspective
- Assisting in the development and delivery of tax‑related guidance and training
Who we’re looking for:
- An interest in tax, risk or governance within financial services
- Ability to interpret and work with data to support decision making
- Clear communication skills with the ability to explain information in a simple way
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, organised approach
- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships across teams
- Willingness to learn and develop technical knowledge in tax and regulatory requirements
- A relevant qualification (e.g. pensions or financial services) or equivalent experience is desirable
- Understanding of pensions, annuities or financial services regulation is beneficial but not essential
