We’ve been safeguarding people’s financial futures since 1836, and strive to build a better society, while improving the lives of our customers and creating value for shareholders. We are one of the world’s largest asset managers and provide powerful asset origination capabilities. Together, these underpin our retirement and protection solutions: we are an international player in pension risk transfer, in UK and US life insurance, and in UK workplace pensions and retirement income.

We’re looking for an Agency Appointments Manager to join our team. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the onboarding of intermediary firms and advisers, ensuring robust risk assessment and compliance from the outset. You’ll lead a high‑performing team, strengthen control frameworks, and work closely with stakeholders across the business to drive efficient, compliant, and high‑quality onboarding processes. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within a regulated environment while supporting strong customer and business outcomes.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading, motivating and developing a team responsible for onboarding intermediary firms and advisers
  • Managing onboarding risk processes and applying robust control frameworks to support decision making
  • Assessing financial and business intelligence to recommend appropriate onboarding outcomes
  • Reviewing and enhancing operational controls to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards
  • Overseeing quality checks, complaint handling, breach reporting and issue resolution
  • Analysing MI and performance data to improve service delivery, efficiency and customer outcomes
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners and key business areas
  • Leading projects and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen risk management and onboarding processes

Who we’re looking for:

  • Proven experience within financial services, with a strong understanding of the UK market
  • Strong knowledge of FCA regulations, compliance frameworks and risk management principles
  • Experience managing or leading teams, with the ability to drive performance and development
  • Understanding of onboarding governance, intermediary structures and contractual arrangements
  • Ability to interpret financial and business data to support risk‑based decision making
  • Experience improving processes, controls and operational efficiency
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across all levels
  • Knowledge of systems and tools used in onboarding, due diligence and business intelligence

Benefits:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance‑related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
  • Generous pension contribution
  • Life assurance
  • Healthcare Plan (permanent employees only)
  • At least 25 days holiday, plus public holidays, with 26 days after 2 years’ service. There is also the option to buy and sell holiday
  • Competitive family leave
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand‑new electric car through tax‑efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
  • Discounts on our products and at a range of high street stores and online
  • We’re creating net‑zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in‑person experience
