We’re currently looking to hire an Assistant Finance Manager to join L&G Asset Management Finance function. The role holder is responsible for undertaking key revenue activities within the L&G Asset Management Finance function. Specific activities will include monthly income accounting for inclusion in the financial accounts and invoicing of clients.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Preparing and calculating monthly/quarterly revenue invoices for part of the Segregated client base in a timely manner in accordance with the IMA’s ensuring accuracy.
  • Preparing and calculating monthly/quarterly revenue invoices for part of the Regulated Fund Structure client base in a timely manner in accordance with the IMA’s ensuring accuracy.
  • Maintaining and developing processes to ensure that month end accrual calculations are undertaken accurately and efficiently.
  • Preparing month end journals for entry into accounting system to facilitate production of the month end accounts within given timescales to ensure completeness of income.
  • Assisting in the preparation of ad hoc work to investigate and address issues raised by Client Relationship Managers.
  • Assisting in the preparation of ad hoc work to investigate and address identified financial control issues and emerging trends.
  • Assisting in the development of automation procedures to improve efficiencies in the current processes and mitigate risks.
  • Ensuring that appropriate processes and systems are maintained to enable the LGIM Finance team to contribute to the division’s ongoing compliance with L&G’s TCF and customer experience policies.

Who we’re looking for:

  • The applicant ideally should be studying ACA, ACCA or CIMA with significant “on the job” accounting experience.
  • Accountancy Knowledge – The application of key accounting principles including double entry bookkeeping and the concept of accruals is key to the role. You’ll therefore either be working towards an appropriate accountancy qualification or have significant on-the-job experience with a Finance environment.
  • Numeracy - Strong numeracy skills are a key requirement of this role, and the role holder should be comfortable with key financial concepts and able to accurately handle volumes of financial data, manipulate the data for use in other financial or operational processes.
  • Team Player - The jobholder should show a willingness to openly share views and findings with other team members and a desire to take an active role in team meetings and discussions with management.
  • Communication Skills - This role requires the jobholder to interact with stakeholders across L&G Asset Management and the wider L&G Group, and with external customers. The jobholder should therefore have strong written and verbal communication skills.
