Are you passionate about making a difference in the Intermediary Protection market? If you have an expert knowledge of the Protection products, can create high quality training and presentations, and are comfortable managing stakeholders at all levels, then this is a fantastic opportunity to join our specialist Intermediary Development team as a Market Development Manager. In this varied role you will define, design, develop and deliver specialist services to support the Partnerships distribution to maximise revenue and profitability targets across all Insurance products and propositions. Specialist services are all areas where wider support and knowledge is required and will include (not exclusively) Protection, Specialist Protection, HNW and sales skills.
You’ll be working in a small team of specialists, whilst also part of a much larger Intermediary team, with your work with the wider Sales team being integral. It’s a close and collaborative team, that are supportive and open to new ideas, giving you a perfect environment to be creative with new approaches and ways of working. You’ll be using your initiative and will need a high level of communication skills, confidence, and stakeholder management to help drive change. Here’s some of the key experience and skills that we’d love to see:
- Excellent knowledge of the Intermediary Protection Market is essential, ideally gained from a Business Development, Relationship Management, or Account Management role.
- Knowledge of Business Protection and Wealth would be highly desirable.
- Must be able to develop training material and deliver in accordance with the knowledge level of the audience.
- In depth working knowledge of end-to-end sales processes to drive improvements in agent efficiency and volume production, to specifically include software solutions as part of L&G sales positioning.
- Previous experience managing internal and external stakeholders across a variety of levels.
What you'll be doing:
- Proactively develop Account strategies for specialist Insurance across the Divisions through identifying adviser and client opportunities and formulating recommendations to increase productivity of all specialist insurance.
- Proactively gather and collate market information to maintain an understanding of the marketplace to recommend improvements in our service and sales proposition.
- Provide market development and research to improve our propositions and delivery across all Specialist Insurance product and proposition streams, to include Retail Protection, Business Protection, HNW.
- Undertake major initiatives with chosen market segments and identified partners. Plan roll out of propositions, training, workshops as directed by the Head of Intermediary Development.
- Ensure that plans are delivered successfully on time and within agreed budgets, managing dependencies and establishing resource requirements.
- Deliver Technical workshops, sales training and keynote conference and roadshow presentations for Internal and External customers, across full Intermediary Insurance product range.
- Work in an effective partnership with telephone and field-based colleagues so that business plans and contact strategies are implemented.
- Develop Technical workshops, Sales training and keynote conference and roadshow presentations for Internal and External customers. Assist in planning and developing a library of material to be used both internally and externally. Ensure all material produced are passed by legal and compliance rules before used in the marketplace.
- Actively consult in the co-ordination of all elements of L&G’s Complex Protection lifecycle, from servicing through to claim until termination.
- Maintain an active relationship between the propositions, product development, sales, service, marketing, and other key stakeholders.
- Identify and exploit new market opportunities to grow the Retail and Specialist protection Markets.
- Generate ideas for product change, enhancement, and development across distribution channels to increase profitable market share and help meet the objectives of the Insurance business.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of competitor activity to include major players and potential new entrants.
- Highlight trends, peaks troughs and make predictions, which can then be fed into the Insurance strategy and can be used where necessary to highlight possible issues or opportunities.
- Work closely with the wider Intermediary distribution team to ensure that all propositions and external opportunities are maximised.
