What the team does

The award‑winning Pensions Risk Transfer (PRT) Client Services team are looking for apprentices to join the division across a variety of teams. By the end of the apprenticeship you will understand the end‑to‑end journey of a Defined Benefit Pension Risk scheme.

Qualifying Criteria

  • GCSE Maths C/4 or equivalent
  • GCSE English C/4 or equivalent
  • Minimum 96 UCAS points from Level 3 qualifications (e.g., A levels or equivalent)
  • Not currently enrolled in a government funded training course such as an apprenticeship
  • Right to work in the UK and have lived in the UK or EEA for the past 3 consecutive years
  • Alternatively, applicants may have completed a prior qualification at a similar subject or level, such as a Business Administration degree.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transitions: Support Transition Consultants by attending client and internal calls and drafting minutes. Maintain project plans and action logs to ensure timely delivery of transitions. Manage the team mailbox and conduct investigative work, reviewing current and historic transitions for requested information. Assist with finance audit related queries, bank account monitoring, and report to the Finance department.
  • Loading Services: Analyse scheme data and build calculation models. Load scheme benefits to the administration system and perform test calculations to ensure accurate quotes and payments in line with benefit specifications and SLAs. Support the production and issue of member correspondence, liaising with external third parties within agreed timescales.
  • Customer Service: Manage a Buy‑In to provide efficient claims service to individual schemes in line with the Benefit Specification. Accurately record workflow onto the appropriate systems, maintaining effectiveness and performing quality checks according to the quality assurance framework. Assist with supporting customers both internally and externally to resolve enquiries in accordance with the relevant SLAs.
  • Operational Support Team: Assist with processing manual calculations of buy‑in and buy‑out schemes. Provide efficient claims service and record workflow onto the appropriate systems. Support the team in maintaining quality and resolving customer enquiries.
  • Collateral and Reinsurance Services: Manage a reinsurance scheme in line with the Benefit Specification to meet customer needs. Support management of reinsurance payments, including loading to internal systems and spreadsheet calculations, ensuring accuracy and timely completion. Assist with supporting clients internally and externally to resolve enquiries in accordance with the relevant SLAs.

Assessment Process

  • CV Application – reviewed to ensure basic requirements are met.
  • Video Interview – approximately 20 minutes to assess motivation.
  • Assessment Centre – competency‑based interview, group activity, and individual work‑based activity.
  • Provisional Offer – subject to enrolment; final offer upon enrolment on the training course.

What You'll Be Doing

Join a 13‑month programme that includes sponsorship to study for an industry‑recognised Level 3 Business Associate qualification while building your business acumen. You will receive on‑the‑job training and coaching, complete training workshops and assignments delivered by a leading apprenticeship training provider, and apply the knowledge and skills in real‑world business challenges.
