We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Retail Platform Operations team, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and enhancing the core platforms that support our engineering community.This is an exciting opportunity to combine platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, automation and developer enablement in a highly collaborative environment. You'll work with modern technologies including Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub and ArgoCD, helping to create secure, self-service platforms that enable teams to innovate at pace. Designing, building and operating central platform services including GitHub, Kubernetes, ArgoCD and CI/CD toolingDriving infrastructure automation using Terraform to deliver scalable, secure and consistent cloud environmentsSupporting application teams with onboarding to shared platform services through guidance, enablement and hands-on collaborationDeveloping reusable GitHub Actions, automation frameworks and CI/CD workflows to improve engineering efficiencyManaging and enhancing Kubernetes-based platforms to maintain performance, resilience and scalabilityPromoting GitOps practices and automated deployment strategies to improve software deliveryTroubleshooting complex platform, infrastructure and networking issues using logs, monitoring tools and system diagnosticsMentoring engineers, sharing best practice and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellenceWho we're looking for:Demonstrated hands-on expertise in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and Kubernetes (AKS preferred) within Azure cloud environmentsStrong experience with GitHub, including GitHub Actions and workflow automation to support CI/CD practicesSolid understanding of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and modern DevOps and GitOps practices, including tools such as ArgoCDProficiency in Linux systems and scripting (Bash/Shell), with working knowledge of Python considered advantageousGood understanding of networking fundamentals, including routing, load balancing and cloud security principlesExperience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana) and exposure to API-driven automation or configuration management tools (e.g. Ansible)Proven track record (5+ years) in DevOps, Platform or Cloud Engineering roles, contributing to shared platforms and working across cross-functional teamsStrong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to mentor engineers, promote automation-first and self-service approaches, and drive continuous improvement in Agile environmentsWhatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you.
