As Engineering Manager, you will lead and grow a high-performing engineering team while remaining hands-on. You will partner with product, architecture and business stakeholders to remove blockers and ensure reliable delivery. Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of engineers to deliver secure and reliable software
- Plan and oversee delivery to achieve predictable outcomes
- Stay hands-on with building scalable software while guiding the team
- Coach and mentor engineers with structured development plans
- Embed quality, testing and security into daily engineering practices
- Drive continuous improvement using delivery metrics and observability data
- Manage operational readiness, incident response and technical debt
- Collaborate with product, architecture and business stakeholders to deliver customer value
Key requirements
- Significant hands-on Java engineering experience
- Experience building and operating Spring Boot microservices
- Strong grasp of modern architecture (domain-driven and event-driven)
- Proven experience leading and developing teams
- Excellent knowledge of test-driven development and automated testing
- Experience with CI/CD practices and modern version control
- Understanding of secure software development, operational readiness and observability
- Ability to balance technical, commercial and delivery considerations and influence stakeholders
