Job Description

We are recruiting for Medical Claims Assessors to join us in our Group Protection department. You will work Monday-Friday on a hybrid basis in our Hove office and earn a base salary of up to £42,000, depending on experience.

What you\’ll be doing:

  1. You’ll provide proactive and comprehensive claims assessment and management services for a defined account portfolio, and check liability with your authority level.
  2. Assessing and triaging Group Protection claims, deciding what medical evidence to obtain in line with L&G’s philosophies.
  3. Providing a comprehensive assessment of Group Protection claims and determining liability, while meeting the expectations of our clients and stakeholders.
  4. Cultivating effective relationships with IFAs and Policyholders (employers), to maximize the effectiveness of our benefit management processes, including support for the portfolio management of defined schemes.
  5. Assisting in the provision of Management Data on portfolio accounts which analyzes performance and identifies key trends.
  6. Training, mentoring, and developing other members of the claims team.
  7. Developing processes that deliver compliant and consistent levels of service, meeting our customer and client expectations.

Qualifications – Who we\’re looking for:

  1. Medical assessing experience.
  2. In-depth knowledge of Group Protection or Income Protection products.
  3. Understanding of medical conditions and their impact on ability to work.
  4. Strong written and verbal communication skills; analytical and risk management skills; strategic thinking.
  5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT skills.
  6. Strong claims medical assessment skills.
