Overview
As Governance & Risk Manager you will strengthen governance, risk and control frameworks for a complex asset management business. You’ll guide risk conversations with stakeholders, support decision-making, and embed a strong risk culture. The role offers involvement in strategic initiatives, continuous improvement, and resilience planning. You will work with cross-functional teams to elevate controls and risk awareness, with a clear impact on safeguarding value for clients and shareholders.

Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and ongoing enhancement of governance, risk and control frameworks across the business
- Identify, assess and manage operational risks and emerging risk themes
- Produce risk reporting, MI and governance papers for senior stakeholders and committees
- Manage risk and control assessments and oversee remediation activities
- Partner with business teams to strengthen controls and improve processes
- Support operational resilience, business continuity and scenario testing
- Provide expert governance and risk guidance and challenge where appropriate
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance governance, risk and control arrangements
Key requirements
- Experience in governance, operational risk, enterprise risk or controls in financial services
- Strong understanding of governance frameworks and internal control environments
- Experience producing risk reporting for senior stakeholders
- Knowledge of operational resilience, risk assessment methodologies and control frameworks
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex information
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Experience delivering process improvements and driving change
- Strong communication skills to explain risk concepts to varied audiences
