Overview
In this role you lead a specialists team that validates, prepares and loads Defined Benefit scheme data to support onboarding. You will drive quality, performance and risk management while ensuring data readiness for changing business needs. You’ll shape processes, collaborate across the Loading Services function, and develop people to deliver reliable, timely service in a hybrid work setting. This is an opportunity to influence data-driven pensions operations at a large UK insurer with a long-standing retirement business.

Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and develop pensions and data specialists
- Set objectives and maintain performance and quality standards
- Oversee validation, preparation and loading of customer and scheme data
- Manage valuation loadings, full scheme loadings and Early Scheme Reviews
- Plan resources to meet service levels and contractual commitments
- Identify operational and data risks and drive mitigation
- Improve processes and controls via continuous improvement
- Support strategic planning and operational readiness across Loading Services
Key requirements
- Strong knowledge of Defined Benefit pension schemes
- Experience leading and developing an operational team
- Experience managing data-led or customer-focused operations in regulated environments (insurance/banking)
- A relevant pensions qualification such as PMI or CII, or equivalent practical experience
- Strong organisational skills with ability to manage competing priorities
- Analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
- Confidence building relationships and influencing stakeholders
