Overview
In this role you help shape risk oversight for Data, AI and Emerging Technologies within Group Risk. You provide independent challenge and insight to governance, controls and risk management, supporting assurance reviews and thematic assessments. You will monitor technology trends, produce senior-level reporting, and collaborate with first-line teams to ensure effective policy implementation. You contribute to a responsible, governance-led approach that aligns with regulatory expectations and strategic technology initiatives.

Responsibilities
- Provide second line oversight of Data, AI and Emerging Technology risk frameworks
- Review and challenge governance, controls and risk management activities across the business
- Support assurance reviews and thematic risk assessments
- Monitor emerging technology trends and identify risks and opportunities
- Produce insightful reports and papers for senior leadership and risk committees
- Work with first line teams to assess policy implementation and control effectiveness
- Develop meaningful risk metrics and management information
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across technology, data and risk functions
Key requirements
- Experience in second line risk, audit or assurance within Financial Services
- Knowledge of data governance, data management, AI governance, privacy or technology risk
- Ability to challenge constructively and influence stakeholders at multiple levels
- Strong report writing, communication and presentation skills
- Experience supporting governance, change or oversight activities
- Understanding of cloud technologies and modern data environments
- Knowledge of evolving regulations including GDPR or AI-related frameworks
