We’re recruiting for a Mortgage Underwriter to join us. We’re offering a competitive base salary. We’re looking for an Underwriter to join our Home Finance team, where you’ll play a key role in assessing complex applications and supporting high-quality customer outcomes. What you’ll be doing:
- Assessing and processing medium to high risk or complex underwriting cases within agreed mandates
- Reviewing applications to ensure risks are understood, documented and managed appropriately
- Communicating with customers and third parties via telephone, email and written correspondence to gather required information
- Ensuring underwriting decisions align with guidelines, audit standards and regulatory expectations
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues by sharing knowledge, guidance and best practice
- Analysing underwriting data to identify trends, insights and potential improvements
- Managing daily workflow and monitoring service levels to ensure timely case progression
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to support business and customer outcomes

- Experience within Mortgage Underwriting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risk and make balanced, informed decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
- Confidence engaging with customers and stakeholders across different channels
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage workload effectively in a fast‑paced environment
