Job Description

We’re recruiting for a Reporting Actuary to join us here at L&G. In this role you’ll play a pivotal part in effectively managing financial risks and delivering high-quality insights that support our strategic decision-making. This will include leading on the production and analysis of results that support the management of our ALM position, ensuring our risks are effectively controlled. This role is a Hybrid working opportunity, which will allow you to split your working week between your home and our London office to find a work-life balance that works for you.

  • Supporting actuarial colleagues to meet reporting and analysis needs across the business
  • Managing stakeholder relationships and tailoring communications to diverse audiences
  • Planning and allocating resources to ensure effective delivery of financial risk reporting
  • Leading, managing and coaching junior team members to maximise performance and engagement
  • Improving reporting systems and processes with a focus on robustness and efficiency
  • Contributing to change initiatives across finance and risk functions
  • Embedding a strong risk and control culture within financial risk reporting

Who we're looking for:

  • A Qualified Actuary with relevant work experience within Life Insurance
  • An understanding of reporting metrics including IFRS, and Solvency II
  • An understanding of the UK finance sector, and associated risk & regulatory requirements
  • Experience in bulk and individual annuity products
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess results for reasonableness
  • Proven stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior team members
  • Experience in reviewing and improving actuarial processes

Whatever your role, we reward performance and behaviour with a package that looks after all the things that are important to you. Here are some of the benefits we offer:

  • The opportunity to participate in our annual, performance-related bonus plan and valuable share schemes
  • Generous pension contribution
  • Life assurance
  • Healthcare Plan
  • 27 days holiday, plus public holidays. There’s also the option to buy and sell holiday
  • Competitive family leave
  • Participate in our electric car scheme, which offers employees the option to hire a brand-new electric car through tax efficient salary sacrifice (permanent employees only)
  • There are the many discounts we offer – both for our own products and at a range of high street stores and online
  • We’re creating net-zero carbon workplaces by 2030 by investing in our sustainable, modern offices across the UK, all designed to bring people together and elevate the in-person experience

Guided by leaders with integrity who care about your future and wellbeing. Empowered through initiatives which support people to develop their careers and excel. We care passionately about outcomes rather than attendance and are therefore open to discussing all kinds of flexible working options including part-time, term-time and job shares.
