We’re recruiting for a Payment Assistant to join our Customer Payroll team in Cardiff. This is an admin‑based role focused on ensuring customer payments are processed accurately, compliantly and on time. You'll work with payment data, tax calculations, HMRC reporting and payroll‑related activities, helping to deliver the right outcomes for our customers. Full training will be provided, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in payroll, payments or financial operations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Processing customer payments accurately and on time
  • Inputting payment, payroll and HMRC data into relevant systems
  • Applying tax codes, PAYE deductions and payment updates where required
  • Reviewing returned payments and supporting ad hoc payment queries
  • Checking workflow activity and maintaining accurate records
  • Escalating anomalies or complex cases to Payroll Specialists
  • Supporting quality checks, audit queries and process improvements
  • Working closely with colleagues across Customer Payroll to deliver good customer outcomes

  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of data accuracy
  • Experience working in an administrative, processing or data‑focused role
  • Confidence working with systems, spreadsheets and workflow tasks
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately in a busy environment

  • Tax, payroll or payment processing awareness would be helpful
