We’re looking for a Data Scientist to join our Group Data & Analytics team, where you’ll play a key role in using data and machine learning to inform decision making, improve customer experiences and support smarter, more efficient ways of working. You’ll work on a variety of machine learning projects across areas such as HR, Finance and Asset Management, and have the opportunity to collaborate closely with our Group Generative AI team on innovative, forward‑looking initiatives. This is a collaborative role well suited to someone who enjoys translating complex data into practical insight and working closely with colleagues across the business.
What you’ll be doing:
- Developing and delivering data science solutions, including generative AI that support business decisions and create value
- Working with diverse data sources to explore, join and analyse data at scale
- Building, testing and refining machine learning models for real‑world use cases
- Communicating insights clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Visualising analytical outputs and model results to a high standard
- Collaborating with data and technology colleagues to productionise and automate solutions
- Ensuring work is well documented and peer reviewed to high quality standards
- Providing subject matter expertise to support data‑led initiatives and customer outcomes
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience working with large or complex datasets and strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of a range of machine learning techniques and analytical approaches
- Experience using programming languages such as Python, R or SQL for data analysis and modelling
- Ability to manipulate data, engineer features and prepare datasets for modelling
- Experience gathering requirements and working collaboratively with stakeholders
- Confidence explaining technical concepts in a clear and accessible way
- Knowledge of Generative AI concepts and agent‑based systems e.g. LLMs, tool‑using agents, or autonomous workflows beneficial but not essential
- Experience experimenting with low‑code or pro‑code AI agent frameworks such as Copilot Studio, LangChain, or similar is beneficial but not essential
