About the Role: An Event Manager at Legal 500 is responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and successful delivery of the company’s global events portfolio. You'll have a particular focus on large‑scale conferences and award ceremonies, and you'll be tasked with ensuring that all events are executed to the highest standard and aligned with the company’s brand and business goals. The role also plays a key part in evolving the events programme, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What you'll be doing:
- Event Strategy & Planning: Lead the end‑to‑end planning and delivery of large‑scale global events, ensuring alignment with business objectives and brand standards.
- Event Delivery: Oversee all aspects of event execution, ensuring seamless logistics, quality standards, and a strong attendee experience.
- Venue & Supplier Management: Source, evaluate, and manage venues and suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring timely delivery.
- Onsite Management: Travel to and manage UK and international events on the ground to ensure flawless execution.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth collaboration.
- Budget Management: Create, manage, and reconcile event budgets, controlling costs while maintaining event quality.
- Small‑Scale Event Support: Plan and support smaller events such as GC Powerlist receptions, dinners, and roundtables.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct post‑event evaluations and implement improvements to enhance future event outcomes.
What we're looking for:
- Proven experience managing large‑scale B2B or corporate events, ideally with international scope.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events and deadlines simultaneously - we're particularly interested in the 'how' with regards to project management: rhythms, cadence and tracking/updating on progress.
- Excellent supplier and budget management capabilities.
- Confident and professional communicator with strong stakeholder management experience.
- Hands‑on problem solver with excellent attention to detail.
- Calm under pressure, adaptable, and solutions‑focused.
- Comfortable travelling internationally and representing the Legal 500 brand on site.
- Leadership skills with experience mentoring junior team members.
