A Production Operator is required to carry out a range of duties as part of a busy team within the Pharmaceutical Production Unit. This can include the Aseptic, Sterile and Non-Sterile production units. All work is performed in a 'clean-room' environment, which requires changing into and working in specialised clothing and some confirmed areas. The Production Operator will be required to undertake ongoing on the job training to develop the necessary skills, competence, and knowledge to fulfil the job requirements.
Job Summary
Undertakes the routine preparation of all 'products' produced at Stockport Pharmaceuticals under the terms of the Medicines Licence (specials).
Responsibilities
- Carries out under supervision:
- Aseptic manufacturing
- Sterile manufacturing
- Non-sterile manufacturing
- Repacking of solid dose product
- Over labelling
- Anaphylaxis drug pack preparation/replacement
Develop technical skills to perform these duties carefully and accurately, with a requirement to concentrate. To be personally responsible for strictly following all procedures and Guidance documents to ensure a quality product is produced to Good Manufacturing Practice (G.M.P.) standards. To wear the designated 'clean room' clothing correctly and work at a level that maintains the required environmental standards essential to the production. Develop a conscientious attitude in order to provide a co-ordinated and effective service.

You must have an interest in pharmaceutical manufacturing, good written and verbal communication skills and an ability to follow detailed instructions as there is a requirement to concentrate and work accurately. Previous experience of working in a similar environment is desirable but not essential as comprehensive training will be provided. Experience of repetitive work, manual dexterity and using mechanical / electrical equipment is essential. Please be aware that this post involves no patient contact.
You must possess good communication skills, be committed, and work well within a team. You must be flexible in approach to duties, prepared to work reasonable extended hours if needed and capable of physical effort in order to move heavy boxes and equipment.
