About The Position(Mon-Fri 8AM-5PM | 1415 California St.)
The Senior Certified Medical Assistant serves to facilitate the organization\’s ability to support patient care safely, efficiently, and effectively. This position promotes and provides education, observation, and data collection to drive desired outcomes as determined through clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for training new and existing medical assistant team members to ensure competencies.
- Performs routine chart audits to validate appropriate documentation/practice of the medical assistants.
- Performs tasks of a Medical Assistant two shifts every pay period.
- Assists RNM in the assessment, planning, and implementation of comprehensive clinical training programs to meet the orientation and ongoing competency and professional development needs of the medical assistant staff across all service lines.
- Provides guidance to preceptors and serves as role model by providing ongoing coaching and mentoring to medical assistants.
- Assists RNM in implementation of education and workflow changes/updates for the medical assistant team.
- Identifies, collects, and reports clinical safety, quality, and training deficiencies that affect staff’s ability to fulfill their job responsibilities.
- Works within the context of a primary care medical home, applying a team-based approach to care while working in partnership with patients/families to promote timely access to care, understanding of patient care that is culturally sensitive and language appropriate, continuity of care, and the improvement of the whole-person through the teaching of appropriate self-management skills
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Registered or Certified as a Medical Assistant required from an accredited school.
- Minimum2 years clinical experience
- Basic Life Support certification
