Key Responsibilities
- Interview patients to obtain medical information, measure vital signs, and record data.
- Collect, document, and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and supply readiness.
- Phlebotomy and diagnostics, adhering to lab processes and protocols.
- Administer various medications and ensure accurate documentation of care.
- Ensure exam rooms are stocked and in compliance with safety regulations.
- Participate in programs and initiatives for safety and patient care improvement.
- Promote collaboration and teamwork within the primary care medical home model.
- Attend and comply with safety and education programs.
- Operate equipment safely and report any safety concerns.
- Ensure a safe environment using appropriate control measures and universal precautions.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- BLS/CPR Certification required.
- Up to one year of experience needed; up to three years preferred.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic clerical or healthcare support specialist skills.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and multitask within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to preventive healthcare and team-based care delivery.
- Experience with computers, Microsoft Office, and electronic medical records preferred.
- Bilingual in English/Spanish is an advantage.
- Phlebotomy skills are preferred.
