Legacie are currently recruiting for an experienced Facade Assistant and/or manager for a large project directly around Facade.
The Facade Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of all building façade works, ensuring they meet design intent, performance requirements, budget, quality, and program targets. This role acts as the key interface between designers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers for façade systems throughout design development, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Technical Management
- Manage façade design development from concept through detailed design and construction
- Coordinate façade consultants, architects, structural engineers, and specialist subcontractors
- Review shop drawings, calculations, samples, mock-ups, and material submissions
- Ensure façade systems meet performance criteria (structural, thermal, acoustic, fire, waterproofing, durability)
- Oversee façade procurement, fabrication, and installation activities
- Monitor site works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Resolve technical issues and design clashes related to façade systems
- Manage façade testing (mock-ups, performance testing, on-site testing)
- Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and project specifications
- Implement quality control procedures and inspections for façade works
- Support site safety initiatives related to façade installation and access systems
- Develop and track façade-related schedules and milestones
- Assist with cost planning, value engineering, and change management
- Review subcontractor progress claims and variations
- Act as the primary point of contact for all façade-related matters
- Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and suppliers
- Provide regular reporting on progress, risks, and technical issues
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
- 5–10+ years of experience in façade engineering, façade contracting, or major construction projects
- Strong knowledge of curtain wall systems, cladding, glazing, and façade materials
- Experience with high-rise, complex, or landmark projects preferred
- SMSTS, 1st aid, Gold or black CSCS.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent coordination and communication abilities
- Solid understanding of façade performance testing and standards
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, and façade-related software is an advantage
