Legacie are currently recruiting for an experienced facade site manager for a large project in Liverpool. The Facade Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of all building facade works, ensuring they meet design intent, performance requirements, budget, quality, and program targets. This role acts as the key interface between designers, consultants, contractors, and suppliers for facade systems throughout design development, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & Technical Management
- Manage facade design development from concept through detailed design and construction
- Coordinate facade consultants, architects, structural engineers, and specialist subcontractors
- Review shop drawings, calculations, samples, mock-ups, and material submissions
- Ensure facade systems meet performance criteria (structural, thermal, acoustic, fire, waterproofing, durability)
- Construction & Delivery
- Oversee facade procurement, fabrication, and installation activities
- Monitor site works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards
- Resolve technical issues and design clashes related to facade systems
- Manage facade testing (mock-ups, performance testing, on-site testing)
- Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and project specifications
- Implement quality control procedures and inspections for facade works
- Support site safety initiatives related to facade installation and access systems
- Programme & Cost Control
- Develop and track facade-related schedules and milestones
- Assist with cost planning, value engineering, and change management
- Review subcontractor progress claims and variations
- Stakeholder Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for all facade-related matters
- Liaise with clients, consultants, authorities, and suppliers
- Provide regular reporting on progress, risks, and technical issues
Qualifications & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in facade engineering, facade contracting, or major construction projects
- Strong knowledge of curtain wall systems, cladding, glazing, and facade materials
- Experience with high-rise, complex, or landmark projects preferred
- SMSTS, 1st aid, Gold or black CSCS.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent coordination and communication abilities
- Solid understanding of facade performance testing and standards
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and tight deadlines
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, and facade-related software is an advantage

- Experience: Facade Management: 4 years (preferred)
- Management: 3 years (preferred)
- Licence/Certification: SMSTS (preferred), 1ST AID (preferred), CSCS Manager (preferred)
