Turn your concept designs into supermarket reality – in record time. Ever walked down a supermarket aisle and wondered who designed the packaging in your basket? At Leeways Packaging Services Ltd, that "who" could be you. We are a leading UK manufacturer of bespoke thermoformed packaging, and we’re looking for fresh, creative minds to help us redefine how the UK’s food industry packages its products. This isn't just a "studio" role, this is a front-line design position where your ideas don't just stay on a screen, they will hit the shelves.

The Impact You’ll Make

  • Designing for the Giants: You’ll create innovative packaging solutions for all the major UK supermarkets and the country’s biggest food producers.
  • Fast-Tracked Success: Our development cycle is agile. You’ll see your designs transition from a CAD model to a manufactured product on a shelf within months.
  • From Screen to Reality: Work directly with our in-house tooling and prototyping team. You won’t just "send off" a file, you’ll collaborate with the makers to watch your designs come to life in physical form.

The Workspace: Modern Tech, Rural Setting

  • Inspiring Views: Enjoy a workspace that offers peace and creative clarity.
  • Stress-Free Access: We are perfectly positioned for an easy commute with close access to the M5, giving you a scenic workplace without the travel headache.

The Role

As our Graduate Designer, you’ll be mentored while taking ownership of your own projects. You’ll spend your days:

  • Bringing concepts to life using 3D CAD.
  • Creating "wow-factor" photorealistic renderings in Keyshot to win over clients.
  • Applying Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles to ensure your visions are production-ready.
  • Collaborating with our Business Development Team and clients to solve real-world packaging challenges.

What You’ll Bring

  • A Design Degree: You’ve recently graduated (or are about to) in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.
  • Tech Savvy: Strong experience in 3D CAD (Inventor preferred), Keyshot and the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A Problem-Solving Mindset: You enjoy the "puzzle" of design—balancing aesthetics with technical specs and technical data.
  • Communication Skills: You can explain and justify your design decisions with confidence.
  • Future-Focused: You have a good understanding of how AI can and will play a part in your design process, using it to help set your designs apart from the rest.

Why Leeways?

  • Salary: £28,000 - £32,000
  • Work-Life Balance: 38 hours a week with an early 3:00 PM finish every Friday.
  • Flexible Working: This is an office-based role to ensure you get the best start, with potential for flexible hybrid working following your probation period.
  • Real Mentorship: Direct exposure to the full product lifecycle, from the first sketch to the factory floor.
