The Opportunity
Weβre looking for an organised and customer-focused Savings Assistant to join our Savings team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Youβll provide efficient and accurate operational support for savings activities across the Society. This will include responding to enquiries, processing savings account instructions, checking documentation and maintaining accurate customer and account records.
Working collaboratively with branch and central teams, youβll help deliver a positive customer experience while ensuring that savings processes are completed accurately and in accordance with regulatory and procedural requirements. Youβll also have opportunities to identify improvements that strengthen our processes, service standards and customer outcomes.
What You'll Be Doing
β Responding accurately and efficiently to savings enquiries from customers, colleagues and third parties by telephone, correspondence and digital channels
β Processing and administering savings accounts in accordance with customer instructions, Society procedures and regulatory requirements
β Coordinating customer mailings accurately and within agreed service standards
β Reviewing savings documentation to ensure it is accurate, complete and compliant with the Societyβs procedures
β Working with branch colleagues to resolve documentation issues and help prevent recurring errors
β Maintaining accurate customer and account records across relevant systems
β Keeping your knowledge of savings products, processes, procedures and regulations up to date
β Identifying opportunities to improve processes, customer outcomes and operational efficiency
β Supporting the achievement of individual, team and departmental objectives
β Identifying and escalating risks, incidents and control weaknesses appropriately
β Taking ownership of your responsibilities and contributing positively to the success of the wider team
What We're Looking For
Essential
β Experience in customer service, administration or operational support
β Strong attention to detail, with experience accurately processing information and maintaining records
β Good numeracy, written communication and organisational skills
β Confidence using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word and Excel
β The ability to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues
β A collaborative approach, with the ability to take ownership and resolve routine issues
β An understanding of confidentiality, compliance and the importance of delivering positive customer outcomes
β Willingness to participate in the departmentβs Saturday rota and provide reasonable support during peak periods
Desirable
β Experience within financial services, savings administration or another regulated environment
β Knowledge of savings products, Anti-Money Laundering and Data Protection requirements
β Experience using customer administration or account management systems
β Experience identifying or supporting process improvements
β Intermediate Excel skills
