The Opportunity
Weβre looking for a commercially focused and relationship-led Business Savings Development Manager to help position Leek Building Society as a trusted savings partner within our local business communities.
This is a highly visible role combining business development, professional networking and relationship management. Youβll proactively connect with local businesses, SMEs, community partners and professional networks across Leek and the surrounding areas, using these relationships to generate leads and attract new business savings customers.
Youβll manage business customers throughout the full lifecycle of their relationship with the Society, from providing guidance during onboarding through to conducting regular reviews, identifying further deposit opportunities and supporting long-term retention and balance growth.
Youβll also represent the Society at networking events, conferences, business forums and community activities, helping to strengthen our profile and reputation. Internally, youβll work closely with our branch teams, Marketing, Risk and Compliance while acting as a subject matter expert for business savings products.
What You'll Be Doing
β Proactively identifying, generating and converting new business savings opportunities through networking, partnerships, targeted outreach and internal and external data
β Building strong relationships with local businesses, SMEs, professional networks, community partners and other organisations
β Representing Leek Building Society at networking events, conferences, business forums and community activities
β Designing, leading and supporting business and community events that enhance the Societyβs local presence and reputation
β Maintaining a measurable business development pipeline and reporting on activity, conversion rates and balance growth
β Acting as the primary relationship manager for business and SME savings customers
β Supporting new business customers through a seamless and compliant onboarding journey
β Building long-term, trusted partnerships that support customer retention and sustainable deposit growth
β Conducting regular customer reviews to identify additional deposit opportunities and provide ongoing support
β Resolving escalated customer queries and service issues promptly and professionally
β Developing expert knowledge of the business savings market, competitor activity, Society products and relevant regulatory requirements
β Acting as the Societyβs subject matter expert for business savings products
β Working with branch leaders and colleagues to strengthen product knowledge, develop lead-generation skills and identify new opportunities
β Collaborating with Marketing to develop targeted campaigns and align external communications with business development objectives
β Sharing customer, market and competitor insight to help inform the Societyβs product proposition
β Partnering with Risk and Compliance to ensure regulatory, due-diligence and ongoing compliance requirements are met
What We're Looking For
Essential
β Proven business development and lead-generation experience within financial services
β Experience managing B2B relationships and converting new business opportunities
β Strong professional networking and relationship-building skills
β Knowledge of business banking, business structures and the UK financial services market
β Understanding of regulated customer onboarding, including Anti-Money Laundering and Know Your Business requirements
β Excellent communication and presentation skills, including confidence representing the Society at networking events
β A structured, commercially focused approach to managing customer relationships and sales opportunities
β Flexibility to meet businesses at their premises and attend occasional events outside normal office hours
Desirable
β Experience within business savings, deposits or SME banking
β An established network within Leek and the surrounding business community
β Knowledge of GDPR, Consumer Duty and BCOBS
β Experience collaborating on targeted marketing campaigns or providing insight into products and competitor activity
