We are looking for a creative Marketing & Communications Specialistto join our dynamic Leeds BIDteam.

This role offers a varied environment where no two days are the same.

You will craft compelling social media content, lead the content creation and delivery forour primary digital platforms and work at the heart of the creation & implementation ofthe most innovative public events & animations in Leeds.

Your focus will be toelevate our brand's presence across all channels, helping todrive Leeds BID’s role in delivering place-marketingat the highest standard.

Role &Responsibilites

  • Liaise with the Marketing& Comms Managerto feed into marketing and communications plans on a project-by-project basis
  • Contribute actively and assist the Marketing&Comms Manager on key city annual placemaking events including, but not limited to, summer animation, Leeds International Festival of Ideas and Christmas
  • Prepare event, marketing& deliveryplans in accordance with the Leeds BID team and project partners
  • Liaise with external agencies and suppliers, for example, production companies, agents, venues and retailers
  • Provide administrative and events support within the team.

This will involve assisting with partner city events (for example, Light Night Leeds) and business events (for example, Showcase event), in collaboration with the Projects & Events Manager

  • Work within the Leeds BID team, contributing to the company business plan working overtime/extended hours as required dependent on events activities
  • Be an active part of the Leeds BID team and assist with any other administrative duties as and when required
  • Work in coordinating digital marketing, PR and direct marketing activity to support all Leeds BID brands, central communication channels and major project sub-brands, working in close support with the Marketing & Comms Assistant in the team.
  • Deliver frontline reporting to support the Welcome to Leeds channel, capturing video & interview footage as appropriate, attending new openings, city networking activities and events.

Manage the implementation of this content across relevant Welcome to Leeds platforms including the website and work proactively with the wider Welcome to Leeds external team.

  • Maintain and develop the Leeds BID website, working with the Marketing & Comms Managerto ensure the information is current and engaging for our business audience.
  • Develop strong supporting communications tools and channels to promote the work of Leeds BID to our levy-payer audience
  • Play an integral role in the creative planning of all Leeds BID animation, event and marketing plans alongside the other members of the marketing team.
  • Represent the company positively at external events, business networking activities and public animations as required across the annual programme of Leeds BID’s work delivery.
  • Minimum of 3+ years experience working in a marketing, events and/or comms role
  • Demonstrable experience ofreporting from live events, identifying story opportunities proactively and delivering finished articlesfor both digital and analogue presentation via appropriate channels
  • Practical experience of establishing external relationships with external mediacontacts and developing these todeliver consistent PR stories and exposure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A creative mindset and thinker, practical experience of taking a concept through from development to implementaion
  • Copy writing and/or press release experience digital and/or analog
  • Proficient in social media management and content creation
  • Good working knowledge and practical experience of Wordpress
  • Familiarity withdigital comms tools e. g. Survey Monkey, mail chimp
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of media production and communication
  • Previous PR experience, ideally agency side with experience across all earned media channels.
  • Previous influencer marketing experience.
  • A passion for PR and influencer marketing in equal measure – and a desire to always learn more.
  • Ability to be adaptable, reactive, responsive. Comfortable working at pace in a busy department, working on multiple projects at any one-time.
  • Proactive, self-starting approach.
  • Knowledge of Agora Pulse, Vuelio, Google analytics, Adobe In Design / Photoshop and Influencer Marketing Platforms will be advantageous attributes.
  • Writing and editing press releases, leaflets, brochures, speeches, newsletters, websites and social media content
  • Representing your company at events with a confident, approachable personality, presenting the positive face of Leeds BID to all the audiences we serve
  • Assisting on events creation and delivery as part of an events team
  • Ability to work proactively using problem solving approaches and a positive, confident attitude
  • Willingness to work flexibly and adapt easily to working ‘out of hours’ as required
  • Salary & Package
  • Competitive Salary –ranging from£30k- £35kdepending on experience
  • 37.5 hour working week with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Employer’s pension contribution up to 8% of salary subject to a minimum employee contribution of 5% and eligibility criteria
