This role is a 6-month Fixed Term Contract. Are you an experienced Research & Knowledge Exchange professional looking for a new challenge and development opportunity? We are seeking a motivated individual to join our Research and Knowledge Exchange Office for a 6-month fixed-term position, with the potential for extension.

This role is ideal for RKE professionals currently working in other universities who can bring their expertise and are looking to develop their leadership skills in a collaborative environment. You will work closely with the Research Manager and take a core role across the full research lifecycle—from pre-award to post-award and all aspects of research grants management.

You’ll have the chance to flex your knowledge of research processes while gaining exposure to new opportunities and professional development, making this an excellent career development opportunity. As the RKEO, you will support academic staff across pre-award and post-award processes, including grant applications and management, taking a lead in developing your team members with your knowledge base and experience.

You will take a leading role in research governance, compliance, and impact activities and administer and manage Power Automate flows and Power BI reports for service management. You will collect, analyse, and report on internal research activity data and assist with Research Excellence Framework (REF) preparations, providing operational support for Research Ethics Committees and ethics approval systems.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in research support (pre/post-award) and knowledge of research culture and governance.
  • Strong administrative and IT skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and manage your own workload.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with academic and professional colleagues.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SaaS systems, Power Automate, or Power BI is highly desirable.
