We are looking for an experienced Lead Maintenance Engineer to play a key role in the smooth running, safety and performance of our Leeds City Centre campus. This is a great opportunity for a technically skilled engineer with strong Mechanical or Electrical expertise to take ownership of a modern, high‑profile building and help deliver an exceptional environment for our students, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Leading planned and reactive M&E maintenance across the City Campus
  • Managing inspections, testing, servicing and compliance in line with SFG20, legislation and warranty requirements
  • Overseeing contractors, reviewing RAMS, issuing permits to work and ensuring safe systems of work
  • Keeping CAFM systems fully updated and accurate
  • Supporting campus operations including security coordination, classrooms/event setups and assisting with small project delivery
  • Acting as a key point of contact for facilities issues, visitors, emergency services and operational queries
  • Confident managing contractors, compliance, life safety systems and H&S processes

Qualifications

  • A technically qualified Mechanical or Electrical engineer (HND/Degree desirable)
  • Strong experience in a fast‑paced, reactive estates or facilities environment
  • Excellent communication, customer service and front‑of‑house skills

Location and working hours

This role will be located at Leeds Trinity University's City Centre Campus in Leeds City Centre. It is a site‑based role with an expectation to be on site Monday to Friday.
