Areyou looking to join a dedicated and friendly team within Theatres andAnaesthetics? Ward 1 is an 23 bedded Elective Surgical Unit, withPost-Operative care for Day cases and 23 hours overnight stays. This ward islooking for a highly motivated registered nurse to join our team.
TheRole: You will be a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team, committed toproviding high quality, patient-centred care for those undergoing surgery. Youwill be able to communicate effectively with patients / staff and demonstratethe trusts core values within your practice. You will work alongsidemultidisciplinary team, welcoming patients to the unit and admitting them forsurgery for a wide range of procedures under different specialities including:Urology, General Surgery, Colorectal, Ophthalmology, Gynaecology, Breast,Vascular, ENT and Plastics. You will assist in preparing patients for theatre,ensuring physical and administrative safety checks are completed. You willprovide post-operative care for patients, assisting with their recovery toallow for a safe discharge home. The ward also provides Pain, MSK andHaematology clinics for the provision of injections and venesections. This is arewarding role which will allow you to follow the patient\’s surgical journeyfrom admission to discharge. Opportunity for training and personal developmentwill be provided for successful candidates.
Main duties of the job
Thisis an amazing opportunity for enthusiastic and motivated individuals with goodcommunication and organisational skills.Successful candidates will be working within a multi-disciplinary teamas well as autonomously, caring for pre and post-operative surgical patients.They will support the patient pathway from elective admission, post-operativecare to facilitating same day discharges.

2. JOB PURPOSE
To provide and be responsible for theassessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of individualisedprogrammes of care.
To deliver care without supervision.
To take charge of the ward ordepartment as necessary in the absence of the Sister or Charge Nurse.
To participate in the in-servicetraining, preceptorship and mentorship of junior staff, post basic learners andstudents.
To take responsibility as the primecare provider for a group of patients.
To promote confidence in ourcommitment to provide excellent compassionate patient care.
