An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Physiotherapist with a passion for pelvic health to come and join the Urogynaecology Physiotherapy team at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The post holder will manage a Urogynaecology Physiotherapy caseload and work collaboratively with the wider MDT, including midwifery services, to provide excellent patient care.

Main duties of the job:

  • The successful applicant will be a proactive and motivated individual with a strong commitment to their continuing professional development.
  • They will demonstrate the ability to adapt to new challenges while maintaining quality.
  • The successful candidate will manage a specialist clinical caseload including the management of Urogynaecology and Gynaecology patients.
  • The post holder will work in outpatients, inpatients and group session provision.
  • You will have the opportunity to contribute to and support service development and work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary teams.
  • The post holder will be supported by Clinical Specialist Physiotherapists and an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner.
  • We welcome applications from experienced Band 6 Physiotherapists or Band 5 Physiotherapists who can demonstrate the enthusiasm and ability to work at a Band 6 level in Pelvic Health.
  • It would be desirable for candidates to have completed a postgraduate POGP (or equivalent) course in pelvic floor assessment and/or dysfunction; however, this training can be provided where required for the successful candidate.

Job responsibilities:

  • To perform physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical gynaecological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.
  • To be responsible for their own continuing professional and personal development.
  • This role will support the implementation of pelvic health services.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent, Health Professions Council Registration, Member CSP.
  • Skills & Behaviours: Professional, hardworking and flexible with a positive attitude; confident and able to take appropriate responsibilities; caring and compassionate; self-motivated and able to work unsupervised; able to make sound judgements and reliable decisions in demanding situations; able to organise, prioritise and delegate as appropriate; able to seek guidance when required; empathetic and able to handle difficult situations; competent basic IT skills.

Experience:

  • Evidence of specialist learning within a relevant field of physiotherapy and CPD including postgraduate courses and study.
  • Postgraduate clinical experience including relevant core area and relevant specialist rotations.
  • Knowledge and experience in a range of approaches to the management of patients in this area of practice.
  • Experience of clinical education of staff, students or assistants.
  • Broad experience in core physiotherapy specialities.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
