Science Manufacturing Technician Apprentice in Leeds

We are seeking enthusiastic, self‑motivated, and practical individuals to join our Pharmacy Preparative Services team(s) and complete a Level 3 Science Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship. You will work across different teams during your apprenticeship, demonstrating flexibility in learning and the ability to plan and organise your workload. Strong communication skills, a professional attitude, and a patient‑centred approach are essential.

Main duties of the job:

• LTHT Pharmacy Preparative Services is one of the busiest in the UK, providing essential ready‑to‑administer injectable medicines, including antibiotics, chemotherapy, nutritional feeds, and radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and treatment clinics.
• The West Yorkshire Association of Acute Trusts (WYAAT) is a designated pathfinder site, and our team is expanding to support a new Aseptic Hub, enabling hospitals across the region to work together and improve patient care.

What you will do:

• Work within specialised clean‑room environments, rotating across different departments within Pharmacy Preparative Services (LGI, SJUH, Radiopharmacy Unit, LS10, and QA & QC).
• Assist with worksheet and label generation, assembly of medicines, preparation of injectable medicines, dispensing, and receipt and distribution of pharmaceuticals and stock control.
• In the second year of training, take on additional responsibilities, including accuracy checking, clean‑room supervisory duties, and an accredited checking qualification.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Pharmaceutical Quality Systems, maintain strict protocols, and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Contribute to the overall quality and safety of pharmacy manufacturing processes.

Working hours:

The post is full‑time, working 37.5 hours per week Monday‑Friday. Shift patterns will vary depending on placement, with some bank holiday and weekend commitments.
