An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Womens Service at Leeds Teaching Hospitals as a Quality, Safety and Learning Midwife/Nurse. This role will work within the existing Quality Safety Learning Team supporting the Women’s Service on governance, quality and patient safety with a specific focus on clinical audit and best practice pathways.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic midwife/nurse who has knowledge of risk and governance processes, ideally maternity specific, and who is a caring and compassionate individual focused on providing safe patient care, following the Leeds Way Values.

Job responsibilities include:
- Working autonomously and managing your own workload in a sometimes high-pressure environment of shifting priorities.
- Collaborating within the Quality and Safety team and the wider multidisciplinary team to support the patient safety and quality improvement agenda.
- Communicating well and maintaining positive working relationships with the multidisciplinary team.
- Contributing to creating an organisational patient safety culture that focuses on high quality care standards and prevention of avoidable harm.
- Using evidence-based practice, lessons learned and data to identify incident themes and areas for improvement.
- Supporting effective governance and risk systems across maternity services.
- Ensuring effective communication systems are in place and maintaining excellent standards of care and compliance with national and local standards.
- Leading for clinical effectiveness and having a working knowledge of clinical audit.
